Sweat Lodge

Hello Everyone;

For anyone interested, Jackie Labonte is having their monthly open Cleansing (Sweat) Lodge at the Fort Erie Native Friendship Center (796 Buffalo Rd, Fort Erie) on Wednesday Nov 30th. They plan on going into the Lodge at 6:00 pm and people start arriving around 5:00 pm to help set up.

They would like women to wear long skirts and T-shirts (or a long dress or a long flannel night gown, no shoes or jewellery go into the lodge) and men can wear shorts and T-shirts. We are welcome to bring any sacred items into the lodge. We should bring a towel and we are welcome to bring an offering of Tobacco (Medicine) in either Sage, Sweetgrass, Cedar or Tobacco. Jackie recommends that we fast that day or at least eat nothing after lunch and do daily prayers (for at least 4 days prior to the Lodge) to prepare. We will have a Feast afterwards, so we are asked to bring something to share. (not too much as we are supposed to eat everything). There will be 4 rounds in the Lodge with a short break between each round. The length of the rounds will depend upon the amount of people participating. We can exit the Sweat Lodge at any time if we need to and if you decide at the last minute that you do not want to enter the Lodge you can always just sit outside by the fire.. It is whatever you are comfortable with. Donations to the Fort Erie Native Friendship Center are welcome. Also, Jackie mentioned that they are in need of Blankets, materials to make benches for around the fire, Firewood and Picnic Tables.. I was at a Drumming Circle tonight and The Drum Told Me This: It is my Destiny to be a Sacred Teacher, I am meant to Express my Unique Individuality, The Pure Light around me is there to Guide both myself and others, I am here to Uplift and Inspire, every Breath is a Soul Nourishing Experience, I am Loved and I am Love, I am Who I am meant to Be and I am where I am meant to Be! This is what the Drum told me and This is my Medicine.

The Tribal Rhythms are calling me Home. The Heartbeat of the Earth is speaking to me and my answer is Yes! Yes I am ready. The Drumming of the Ancestors connects me with the Source that i may Transcend and Ascend. The Music of the Moment is Ancient and Ethereal. It Guides me to Live a Life devoted to Peace, Freedom, Joy and Love. Listen to the Drums and Dance with me upon this Earth.
